Breastfeeding Stories With Kunza

newborn baby1) How do you feel about breastfeeding?

It’s not easy but it is worth it. In such a place where you can’t even get pure milk for your self, breastfeeding is the best and the purest thing a mum can do for her offsprings.

2) Any totkas you used to increase your milk supply?

There were so many being suggested. I guess just feed and pump as much as possible as it was the best thing that helped but as far as totkas are concerned, try to stay hydrated, have healthy food (but that does not mean having mutton all the time), drink water every now and then and yes, zera water helped me also. And most important STAY POSITIVE.

3) Is it common to have uneven milk supply?

Yes, it’s never the same. I was very worried so, I used to do lots of research on it. Yes, it’s not the same.

4) What do I do if my baby doesn’t latch right away?

I pumped a bit out and gave him and then he used to.

5) Is it normal to not have a menstrual cycle while breastfeeding?

I got my harmonic issue due to birth control injection, that’s why I can’t say but have heard about it many time so, I can conclude it varies. I did get my period before I got an injection.

newborn baby6) Isn’t Breastfeeding Supposed to be Easy?

It’s the way u take it. Not that easy for women managing households and the one living in a joint family. It requires your time and patience. I remember my son was given bottle-feed without informing me as feeding him didn’t allow to instantly serve my families with the sender stuff (you know, the guests’ stuff and demands). Ahhhh I compromised on my firstborn’s feed but not going to do it for the second one. It’s not tough but people create situations that make it difficult.

7) What Are Challenges for Working Mothers Who Breastfeed?

I think they face similar ones as the housewives are facing.

8) Have you cluster fed? How is it?

9) How do you manage the night shift?

I used to give him one bottle at night but, after 12. Just because I never wanted to know if something happens that I am not available or I can breastfeed him. He got used to taking bottle feed as well.

baby hands10) Any advice for soon to be mommies about breastfeeding?

I am going to deliver my second born in few days, InshaAllah, I can only suggest something I am going to do:

It’s your baby, it’s your part, it’s your decision as to how to manage your baby. Don’t listen to anyone else. You decide to breastfeed the baby, no matter what happens.

P.S. If the supply is less drink plenty of water and please, don’t say no to panjeeri. Make a mixture out of it on a spoon of desi ghee and heat it. Then later, have nuts. Eat healthy for your baby because whatever you eat goes to your baby through the feed. It’s the best gift you can give to your child. And if it’s a girl, please, breastfeed her as she needs to be stronger than boys. Don’t panic, take a deep breath and start over again.
